Clippers Waive Joe Ingles To Bring Roster Down To 15

Rowan Kavner LOS ANGELES – The Clippers trimmed their roster to 15 players Saturday by waiving forward Joe Ingles. Ingles played five minutes and 45 seconds in Friday’s preseason finale against the Trail Blazers, missing his only shot from the field while dishing out two assists. He played 37 minutes in five preseason games, finishing with six points, five rebounds and five assists. The Australian forward impressed at the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup after playing for Maccabi Tel Aviv in the Israeli Premier League in 2013, earning a spot on the Clippers’ roster this preseason. Only Ekpe Udoh played fewer minutes in the preseason. Ingles and guard Jared Cunningham both went into the preseason with non-guaranteed contracts, but Cunningham put up 49 points, six assists, six steals and 10 rebounds in an impressive 91 minutes. Cunningham finished three of the final four preseason games with double digit points in extended action while guard Jordan Farmar nursed a back injury.
