GAME LEADERS

The Warriors broke a 97-97 tie with an 11-0 run in the fourth quarter and hung on the rest of the way for a 110-106 victory in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals on Tuesday night at Oracle Arena.

Stephen Curry scored seven of his game-high 34 points during the game-deciding run, and in the process connected on his sixth 3-pointer of the evening. The hot shooting from distance continued a postseason trend for the MVP, who in recent weeks set NBA postseason records for made 3-pointers in both a four-game series (20 vs. New Orleans) and a six-game series (26 vs. Memphis). Curry, now 14 of 24 from distance over the last two games, had 21 points in the second half to help the Warriors get out to the early series lead.

If Curry was the closer, Shaun Livingston thrived as the setup man. With the Warriors going small in the second quarter, Livingston helped lead a 16-point comeback by scoring 14 points in the period on perfect 5-of-5 shooting. The comeback fueled a frenzied crowd that was certainly fired up for the conference finals to return to the Bay Area for the first time since 1976, and another capacity crowd will fill the building again on Thursday as the Dubs look to take a 2-0 series lead.
