GAME LEADERS

The Warriors returned to Oracle in winning fashion on Wednesday night, defeating the visiting Milwaukee Bucks 102-93. Leading by a single point heading into the fourth quarter, the Warriors outscored the Bucks 30-22 in the final frame to clinch the victory. Draymond Green led the way for the Dubs on his 25th birthday, filling the stat sheet and notching a double-double with 23 points, 12 rebounds, five assists and three steals. Stephen Curry also recorded a double-double with 19 points and 11 assists, while Klay Thompson and Shaun Livingston added 17 and 16 points, respectively.

Teams are often sluggish in the first game back from a long road trip, but that didn’t prove to be the case for the Warriors in this one, as Golden State used a 7-0 run in the first four minutes to gain an early 9-4 advantage. After Milwaukee cut the Warriors’ lead to a single point, Stephen Curry sank back-to-back three-pointers (the first of two such sequences for the game) to put the Dubs up 19-10 with 4:58 remaining. The Warriors would go on to score six more points in the remainder of the quarter, all on Draymond Green three-pointers, to take a 25-19 lead into the second quarter.

Milwaukee, however, would open the second frame on an 8-2 run to tie the game at 27 with 10:23 left in the first half. Leading 43-38 with 4:14 left in the quarter, Golden State went on an 8-0 run to gain their largest lead of the game to that point. From there, however, the Bucks would outscore the Warriors 15-2 over the final 2:22, including 11-0 run to end the quarter, as a Michael Carter-Williams jump shot would beat the buzzer and send the teams into halftime tied at 53.
