Top Five Plays Of The Week - 03/30/15

PLAYA VISTA, Calif. – DeAndre Jordan took his highlight-reel dunks to a new level last week.

Jordan put his own touch on each of the Clippers’ three victories during the East Coast road trip against the Knicks, 76ers and Celtics, throwing down acrobatic dunks in each location.

An entire top five dunks piece could’ve been compiled from his trip to New York alone, when he went 7-for-7 from the floor with six of those field goals getting slammed down. He almost provided too much material to choose from, but we trimmed his best dunks down to a handful.

Here are the top five plays of the week, courtesy of the high-flying center:

5) Jordan skies high on the Celtics

“Woah.” That’s all the Celtics’ broadcast team could say after watching Chris Paul drive the lane and lob the ball up to Jordan, whose head was basically at the rim as he extended and jammed it home.

4) Philly traffic no match for Jordan

Paul picks up the dribble, then runs a give-and-go with Blake Griffin to get the ball back in the paint and lob it up for Jordan. There’s three 76ers potentially capable of swatting the lob, but it’s Jordan who rises up with one hand and finishes.

3) For the love of elevation

Jordan’s a versatile dunker. He can throw it down on the lob, or he can catch in the lane, take a step, rise up and throw it down. This was the latter, as the Knicks elected to double Griffin and leave Jordan free.

2) The lob show continues

Paul doesn’t have to be in the paint to throw a lob. Here, he buys some time for Jordan to cut. As he starts to drive, Paul lobs it up with one hand while Jordan uses two to finish with authority in New York.

1) Smith gets put on a poster

There were 14 Jordan dunks as the Clippers’ center terrorized the Knicks, 76ers and Celtics on the three-game road trip. This, without much question, was the most impressive, leaving Jason Smith to likely wonder why he challenged Jordan.
