With Sunday’s 118-105 win in Denver, the Warriors have matched the best start to a season in NBA history.

With Sunday’s 118-105 win in Denver, the Warriors have matched the best start to a season in NBA history. The Dubs have joined the 1948-49 Washington Capitols and the 1993-94 Houston Rockets by going 15-0, and the Warriors will have a chance to stand alone when they take the court on Tuesday against the Lakers.

GAME LEADERS

The Nuggets hung around for the majority of the game on Sunday, but in the end the defending champs were just too much to handle. Klay Thompson connected on four 3-pointers and led the team with 21 points, and he led a balanced offensive attack that featured 19 points and seven assists from Stephen Curry, 17 points from Harrison Barnes, 13 points from Draymond Green and 12 points from Andre Iguodala.

This game marked the first time this season that Stephen Curry didn’t score at least 20 points, and instead he got to sit out the entire fourth quarter. He was getting ready to check back in midway through the final period, but strong play from the Warriors reserves increased the Warriors lead to a comfortable margin, and the Dubs cruised to their 15th straight win to start the season.

Denver was within six points at halftime, but the Dubs stepped up their defense after the break and kept the Nuggets to 34.8 percent shooting in the third and fourth quarters. The Dubs had a season-high 15 steals and turned 19 Denver turnovers into 20 points.

The first defending champion to start a season 15-0 and the owners of a 19-game regular season winning streak (dating back to last year), the Warriors will look to make more NBA history when they host the Lakers on Tuesday on Hardwood Classics Night at Oracle Arena. Tickets are still available and the first 10,000 fans in attendance will receive a Draymond Green Bobblehead, courtesy of BMW. Plus, the Warriors will honor the career of Jason Richardson at the game, and the team will wear its popular “The City” uniforms. FIND TICKETS
