Top 10: Clippers’ Buzzer Beaters of 2015-16 Season

10) Jamal Crawford, Nov. 9 vs. Memphis – Hey, everyone around Crawford looks familiar! Crawford gets the pass from Josh Smith in the corner and beats the buzzer from 3-point range at the end of the third quarter over former Clipper Matt Barnes and then-Grizzlies forward Jeff Green, a shot that would matter a great deal in a two-point win.

9) Wesley Johnson, Nov. 11 vs. Dallas – Doc Rivers wanted to make sure Johnson didn’t hesitate when he got a good look this season. There was no reluctance as he beat the buzzer at the end of the third quarter in Dallas.

8) Jamal Crawford, Feb. 29 vs. Brooklyn – When the reserves are on the floor and the Clippers get a chance at the final shot of the quarter, there’s a good chance Crawford’s involved. Crawford gets in isolation against the Nets and gives the Clippers the lead heading to the fourth quarter with this elbow jumper off the dribble.

7) Wesley Johnson, Dec. 31 vs. New Orleans – Johnson’s used to catching in the corner to get off a 3-pointer, but with the Clippers in need of a basket, he shows in New Orleans that’s not the only place on the floor he can beat the buzzer.

6) Chris Paul, March 23 vs. Golden State – As this top 10 will show, Paul has a knack for hitting shots before the buzzer sounds. With four seconds on the clock and the Clippers inbounding from under their basket, Paul finds a way to hit the 3-pointer despite the full-court pressure before the end of the third.

5) Chris Paul, Dec. 7 vs. Minnesota – In a game the Clippers ultimately won, this shot to beat the buzzer from Paul at the end of the half helped the Clippers stay in striking distance. Blake Griffin’s behind the mid-court line as he inbounds with 1.5 seconds to Paul, who creates some space, takes a dribble and fires in the shot from long distance between the 3-point line and half-court line.

4) Chris Paul, March 7 vs. Dallas – Paul scored 18 points in the third quarter to fly past the Mavericks both figuratively and literally, as his final two points of the quarter included him soaring past Dirk Nowitzki and floating through the lane on a one-handed buzzer-beater.

3) Jamal Crawford, Nov. 24 vs. Denver – There’s only three seconds left on the clock in the third quarter when Crawford grabs the defensive rebound, takes a couple baby dribbles and launches up the attempt beyond mid-court. He says every shot he takes he believes he’ll make, and these types of buckets are the reason why.

2) Jamal Crawford, April 8 vs. Utah – OK, so technically it was just before the buzzer, but Crawford drilled the game-winning 3-pointer with not enough time for Utah to do much of anything. This happened after Cole Aldrich sent the game to overtime, as a shorthanded group of Clippers handed a Jazz team fighting for a playoff spot the late-season loss.

1) J.J. Redick, March 24 vs. Portland – Where to even begin? So much had to happen for Paul to inbound the ball with 1.1 seconds and find J.J. Redick for the game-winner. Paul has a split second to get the pass to Redick before the guard blows by, so Paul throws it under Mason Plumlee’s legs with just enough time for Redick to grab the pass in stride and finish off the game-winner.
