2016 Player Capsule: Lou Williams

By the Numbers
7: Steals made by Lou Williams in the Lakers' win over Washington on Dec. 2, which were a career-high.
44: Points scored by Williams against Oklahoma City on Jan. 8, which were the most by a Laker other than Kobe Bryant since Shaquille O'Neal in 2003.
57: Game of double-digit scoring for Williams, who made 67 appearances on the season.

Season Summary
The reigning Sixth Man of the Year provided plenty of scoring for the Lakers, particularly at the charity stripe. The crafty foul-drawer led his team with a career-high 5.3 made free throws, which ranked 11th in the NBA — much higher than any other who often came off the bench. He also averaged the second-most points of his career (15.3), which ballooned to 16.9 while in the starting lineup for 35 games. Though Williams sat the final seven games to give more playing time to younger players, he still ended strong by scoring double figures in each of his last 16 games, save for one that he exited early due to injury.

In His Own Words
"I still think there's potential there (with the team). I think the upside is brighter than what it's shown. I feel like we have a lot of potential. ... Just a lot of young talent."
