Warriors - Clippers Preview

BATTLE OF THE UNBEATENS
When you’re barely a week into the season, it’s hard to classify any single matchup as a big game, but Wednesday night’s showdown with the Clippers on Warriors Ground just might defy the conventional wisdom. The divisional foes are both 4-0 heading into their first of four head-to-head matchups this year, and the verbal jabs between the two clubs in recent months have done nothing but fan the flames of this budding rivalry. Tickets are still available for this highly anticipated nationally televised showdown, and the first 10,000 fans in attendance will receive a 2015 Warriors Championship Replica Ring, courtesy of City National Bank. Those unable to attend can watch the game on CSN Bay Area and ESPN, or listen on KNBR 680 and the Warriors Mobile App. FIND TICKETS

LAST TIME OUT
Behind yet another spectacular performance from Stephen Curry, the Warriors made it four wins in a row to begin the season with a 119-69 victory over the Grizzlies on Monday night. Curry scored a game-high 30 points, including 21 in the third quarter, as the Dubs overcame a first quarter deficit for their largest margin of victory so far this season. Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, Festus Ezeli and Ian Clark all scored in double digits, as all 13 members of the Warriors notched at least two points. Full Game Recap

PROTECTING WARRIORS GROUND
The dominant effort put forth on Monday night was the Warriors’ 20th straight regular season win at Oracle Arena. That’s a new record for the longest home winning streak in team history, breaking the previous mark that was set between November and January of the 2014-15 season. Fueled by the passionate support of Dub Nation, the Warriors have taken good care of their home court in recent years, going 41-2 at Oracle Arena since the start of last season and winning 71 of their last 86 regular season home games overall. Every regular season win counts the same when it comes to the standings, but if the Dubs can continue to pile up the victories at home, the mystique of Warriors Ground being a tough place to visit will only grow.

L.A. CLIPPERS SCOUTING REPORT
The Clippers are one win away from matching their best start to a season in franchise history. Along with the Warriors, Los Angeles is in the only undefeated team left in the Western Conference. The team as a whole is shooting 48 percent, third in the NBA behind the Dubs and Jazz, and leading their charge has been Blake Griffin. As important as Stephen Curry has been to the Warriors’ strong start, Griffin has been equally as valuable for the Clippers. He’s averaging 29.5 points and 9.3 rebounds, and he has led the Clippers in scoring in each of their first four games. Along with Griffin, the Clippers return the core of last season’s squad that was one win shy of reaching the Western Conference Finals. With the veteran additions of Lance Stephenson, Paul Pierce and Josh Smith joining the likes of Griffin, Chris Paul, J.J. Redick and DeAndre Jordan, the Clippers have the look of a team that can challenge the Warriors in the Pacific Division, which makes Wednesday night’s matchup all the more intriguing.

Upcoming Home Game: Friday, Nov. 6
