Atlanta Hawks point guard Dennis Schröder came off the bench for the German National Team Sunday in a game where they didn't need him at all.
Germany routed Luxembourg 109-49 in the second qualifying round of EuroBasket 2015 to move to 2-1 in group play. That, coupled with Austria's two-point win over Poland, moved the Germans into a tie for first place halfway through the group stage.
Schröder played just 18 minutes, scoring nine points and recording four assists while shooting an efficient 4/6 from the field. He is now shooting 56 percent from the tournament, including 40 percent from three-point range while averaging 12.7 points in the three games.
Germany was +34 with him on the floor Sunday.
The national team's next game is Wednesday against Poland, who beat Germany by one in the first meeting. Germany must finish at least second in the group to have a chance at advancing.
