Get to Know Green

Who on the team has helped you grow your game the most?

I would probably have to say Ty. Ty has helped me a lot: teaching me how to watch film, teaching me how to be a point guard. I haven’t played point guard in half a year now because in Italy I played a 2-guard, so just getting back in rhythm of becoming a point guard and how to become a point guard.

What is the coolest thing about playing abroad?

Traveling to new places I had never been before, like Russia, Turkey, I’ve been all over the place – places I never thought I’d see in my life. It was a great opportunity and I played against some great competition to get me ready for where I’m at today.

What’s the best part of our experience with the Denver Nuggets so far?

First, having my dream come true and being able to play in the NBA. But also, you know, competing against these guys every day in practice. Going up against Ty, Nate, Afflalo, Randy, getting my game to another level and working with these guys is really going to get me there.

What do you think are the strongest and weakest points of your game?

My strongest is my scoring ability. I can score the ball very well, and I find different ways to score the ball. Probably my weakest right now is being a consistent shooter. Being a scorer and a shooter are two different things, and right now I need to be more of a consistent shooter, knocking down wide-open shots.

Who is your favorite player?

I don’t have one anymore since I’m ehre in the NBA, but overall, my all-time favorite would have to be Michael Jordan, of course. As a kid, I used to love watching Isaiah Thomas just because of his attitude, his swagger and demeaner he had on the court.

If you had to pick your favorite basketball movie, what would it be?

He Got Game or Sixth Man.

Who are you most excited to go up against?

Probably, when I get the chance, Kyrie, Chris Paul, the best point guards, just to see where I stand at. I’m a competitor; I love a challenge.

What are your goals for this season?

My goals right now are to keep getting better. I’m not playing right now, but I got a lot of work to do. I have to be patient. My time will come, and when it does, I have to seize the opportunity. I just have to stay focused and keep getting better.

If there was one food you could eat all day, what would it be?

It would have to be two: fried chicken and watermelon. I love watermelon.

What do you do when you’re not busy with basketball?

I love the beach, the water. I love video games. I love playing FIFA. I don’t think anybody could beat me at FIFA. And spending time with my family – I’m a big family-oriented guy. I have three little sisters that I’m really close with, so spending time with them.

What’s your favorite music?

Favorite of all? Probably rap, hip-hop. I love slow jams. I’m an R&B type of guy.

Who are you closest to on the team?

Probably Randy and Ty. Those are the two that really take care of me and look after me a lot, so they give me a lot of advice.
