As a result of the record 59 fouls, the Pacers and Knicks combined to attempt 65 free throws. The Pacers were 32-of-37 and the Knicks 19-of-28. Miller was 14-of-15. The previous record for fouls in a playoff game had been set by Boston and Syracuse in a four-overtime game in 1953.
