Fresh off a victory over the Heat on Tuesday, the Warriors’ current four-game homestand continues on Thursday against the visiting Detroit Pistons. This will be the second and final meeting between the two teams this regular season, after Golden State prevailed 119-113 in their only prior encounter back on December 23rd in Detroit. GOLDEN RATIO
Andre Iguodala doesn’t necessarily always get the recognition he deserves, and much of that has to do with the fact that his contributions, while certainly valuable, often go under the radar. He doesn’t start, he plays mainly with the reserves, and hasn’t taken more than nine shot attempts in a game this season. Yet, that’s part of what makes Iguodala such a special player. He doesn’t necessarily need the ball to make an impact, places team goals above individual pursuits, and possesses a unique blend of skill, experience and humility. Steve Kerr often utilizes Iguodala as both a secondary ballhandler and a steadying influence, and Iguodala continues to give Kerr consistent reasons to do so. Over the last four games, Iguodala has tallied 15 assists and zero turnovers, matching his career-long streak of games with no turnovers. In fact, his assist-to-turnover ratio of 5.00 on the season leads all qualifying players in the league. Iguodala has been an invaluable resource both on and off the court for the Dubs ever since he arrived three-and-a-half seasons ago, and he’ll continue to play a vital role for them moving forward.

DETROIT SCOUTING REPORT
If the Pistons are going to turn their season around, they better do so relatively soon. At 18-22, Detroit currently occupies last place in the Central Division and sits 2.5 games back of Charlotte for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. They have been playing better as of late though, having won three of four before falling to Sacramento in their most recent game on Tuesday, in which they blew an 18-point lead. Defense has not been the issue, as Detroit currently boasts the 10th-best defensive rating in the league and allows the fourth-fewest points against per game. It’s been a different story on the offensive end, however, as the Pistons have struggled to score efficiently, averaging just 103.3 points per 100 possessions. The Warriors play at the second-fastest pace in the NBA, whereas Detroit operates at the fifth-slowest, preferring to slow things down. If the Dubs can enforce their style of play on the game, it could go a long way towards securing another home victory.
