End of a road trip. First game following an emotional win. Facing an opponent fighting for their playoff lives. Yes, the conditions for Monday’s game are setting up rather well for what is commonly known as a ‘trap game’ for Golden State. Denver is not an easy place to win to begin with, and when you add in the aforementioned factors, it becomes increasingly clear that Monday’s game could be far more evenly matched than the two teams’ records indicate. Luckily for the Dubs, they’ll have a day of rest in between games, and they’ll need to get the most of it in order to bring the same level of energy and competitiveness that drove them to victory in Oklahoma City on Saturday.

If the postseason started today, Monday’s game would represent a first round playoff preview. At 24-30, Denver currently occupies the eighth seed in the West, sitting a full game ahead of Portland for the final playoff spot in the conference. The Nuggets are one of the youngest teams in the league, and it’s shown in their inconsistency. Denver has alternated wins and losses over their last seven games, and are coming off a 125-109 defeat in Cleveland. They have won seven of their last eight games at the Pepsi Center, however, and will attempt to utilize that homecourt advantage to take down the Warriors, who have won eight of the last 10 meetings between the two teams.
