Coming off a 111-95 victory in Oklahoma City on Monday, the Warriors will play their second road game in as many nights when they travel to Dallas to face the Mavericks on Tuesday. This will be the third and final matchup between the two teams this season, after Golden State prevailed in each of their first two encounters. SPLASHIN' AWAY
The Warriors have averaged 114.0 points per game during their current winning streak, and the hot-shooting Splash Brothers are a big reason why. Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry combined for 57 points and 14 three-pointers in Monday’s win in Oklahoma City, and the two members of Golden State’s starting backcourt are averaging a combined 54.3 points per game over the Dubs’ last four wins. Curry has shot 20-of-40 from three-point range over that span, while Thompson has been nearly identical at 20-of-39. They now rank first and third, respectively, in total three-pointers made this season, while Curry’s 269 are tied with Ray Allen for the fifth-most in a single season in NBA history. The four higher totals all belong to either Curry or Thompson, and there’s a decent chance they could claim the top-six single season totals within the next month. Golden State has 12 games remaining on their regular season schedule, and the Splash Brothers couldn’t be finding their groove at a better time heading into the playoffs.

There are five teams within four-and-a-half games of each other competing for the eighth and final playoff spot in the West, and the Mavericks are right in the thick of it. At 30-39, Dallas currently occupies the 10th seed in the conference, 2.5 games behind Denver in eighth. They’ve alternated wins and losses in each of their last four games, and now encounter a Golden State Warriors team that just became the second team in NBA history to win 27-or-more road games in three consecutive seasons. The Mavericks rank dead last in the NBA in both points and rebounds per game while the Warriors rank in the top-six in both categories. They’ve only won one game all season in which their opponent has scored at least 109 points, so if the Warriors are able to push the tempo and make it a high-scoring affair, that should work in their favor.
