Hornets Exercise Team Options On Miles Bridges And Malik Monk

October 25, 2019 – Charlotte Hornets General Manager Mitch Kupchak announced today that the team has exercised its third-year option on forward Miles Bridges and fourth-year option on guard Malik Monk.

Bridges is in his second NBA season after appearing in 80 games (25 starts) in 2017-18. Bridges averaged 7.5 points (.464 field goal percentage) and 4.0 rebounds in 21.2 minutes per game in his rookie campaign. He was selected by the Hornets with the 12th pick in the 2018 NBA Draft after playing collegiately at Michigan State.

In his third NBA season with the Hornets, Monk posted averages of 8.9 points and 1.6 assists in 17.2 minutes per game during the 2018-19 season. He has averaged 7.9 points, 1.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 15.5 minutes per game in 137 career games. Monk, who played collegiately at the University of Kentucky, was selected by the Hornets with the 11th pick in the 2017 NBA Draft.
