Thunder Announces Expanded Partnership with Riverwind, Newcastle Gaming Center

Oklahoma City, Aug. 19, 2010 -- The Oklahoma City Thunder has announced a major expansion of a corporate partnership with Riverwind Casino and Newcastle Gaming Center. Both facilities have signed an exclusive multiyear agreement with the Thunder.

“We’re excited to partner with the Oklahoma City Thunder, a team and an organization that has quickly become an important and integral part of the community in the Oklahoma City metro area,” said Chickasaw Nation Gov. Bill Anoatubby.

“It’s an honor for the Chickasaw Nation and Riverwind Casino to be associated with the prestige and excitement of the NBA and the young and successful Oklahoma City Thunder team. Like all their fans, we look forward to watching the Thunder build on last season’s success this season, and through our exclusive sponsorship we hope to be along for what will surely be a thrilling ride.”

His sentiments were echoed by Thunder Vice President of Business Development John Croley.

“Riverwind is a tremendous corporate partner that shares the Thunder’s commitment to giving back to the community,” Croley said.

“With this new Chickasaw Nation agreement, our partnership becomes ‘exclusive’ between two of Chickasaw Nation’s marquee properties: Riverwind Casino and Newcastle Gaming Center. We are excited about how this relationship will enrich the Thunder experience for our fans.”
